At the conference, representatives of Samsung Vietnam presented an overview of the SIC program, a global technology talent development project launched in 2019 and implemented in Vietnam in the same year. The program focuses on training in foundational technology fields such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things (IoT), big data, and programming.
For Thai Nguyen, Samsung Vietnam proposed two key areas of cooperation. First, the province will select lower secondary and upper secondary schools to participate in the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow competition, an annual technology competition for students that encourages the application of STEM education to address social, environmental, and local issues.
Second, the establishment of an SIC Lab in 2026 is proposed to create a modern training and technology experience space to support hands-on training, research, and the development of new technology projects, while also contributing to human resource training for high-tech industries and the semiconductor sector.
Concluding the conference, provincial leaders assigned the Department of Education and Training to study and promptly implement participation in the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow competition, and assigned Thai Nguyen University to take the lead in surveying resources and selecting a site for the SIC Lab.
Relevant units were instructed to closely coordinate to finalize the project, ensure implementation progress, and strive to complete it in the first quarter of 2026.
