For Phu Luong Agricultural Cooperative, e-commerce has become an important sales channel. Alongside thousands of traditional retail outlets, the cooperative’s OCOP products are now delivered directly to consumers through digital platforms.
Mr. Tong Van Vien, Chairman of the Board and Director of Phu Luong Agricultural Cooperative shaired: “We will focus on deploying digital technologies to livestream sales on platforms such as TikTok, e-commerce marketplaces, and Facebook and YouTube. We also use digital technologies combined with AI to create product images and videos for promotion, helping customers better understand product origins and usage, thereby building consumer trust".
Identifying human resources as a key factor in e-commerce development, Phu Luong Agricultural Cooperative has proactively invested in personnel and equipment, while gradually building a dedicated digital sales team. Staff members receive systematic training in marketing, livestreaming, order processing, and customer care to meet the increasingly demanding requirements of the digital market.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Dien, a marketing staff member of Phu Luong Agricultural Cooperative said: “In the past, our cooperative mainly focused on traditional sales methods such as word of mouth or participating in product exhibitions and fairs. However, since we started livestreaming on platforms like Facebook and TikTok, our customer reach has expanded significantly. Many customers from distant areas now know about us and support our products".
Alongside e-commerce, logistics providers play a crucial role. They serve as the vital bridge that delivers agricultural products from production areas to consumers quickly and safely.
Mr. Hoang Xuan Tung, Viettel Post Thai Nguyen said: “Viettel Post always accompanies farmers by organizing livestream sessions with them, guiding them on product descriptions, image creation, and livestreaming their products to achieve the highest economic efficiency".
As market outlets expand, farmers are the direct beneficiaries of e-commerce. With the linkage between cooperatives and online sales channels, many households now feel more secure in their production activities.
Ms. Bui Hai Yen, Director of Ban Viet Production and Trade Services Cooperative shared: “Thai Nguyen Province has assigned Ban Viet to introduce, promote, and support local products in the digital space. In addition, Ban Viet operates the Shopee store and the province’s shared agricultural products store, which is also the first store nationwide to receive support from Shopee Viet Nam. After Ban Viet listed the products online, many people were surprised to learn that Thai Nguyen has such a wide range of unique specialties. Many previously thought Thai Nguyen only had tea, but when the products were brought onto the internet, especially onto e-commerce platforms, they received a very positive response".
E-commerce is gradually becoming a driving force, helping Thai Nguyen’s agricultural products reach wider markets. With cooperatives serving as the central connectors, logistics enterprises providing support, and farmers as the producers, the local agricultural economy is confidently entering the digital marketplace.
