In the first quarter of 2024, the industrial production value in Thai Nguyen province reached 203 trillion VND, an increase of 6 percent compared to the same period and achieving 19.2 percent of the annual plan.

Specifically, foreign-invested industries contributed mainly with a value of 189.6 trillion VND (accounting for 93.3 percent of the total industrial production value), rising 6.6 percent compared to the same period. Broken down by sector, manufacturing and processing industries reached an estimated 201.9 trillion VND (accounting for 99.4 percent of the total production value), up 6.1 percent compared to the same period; electricity production and distribution reached 687.5 billion VND, rising 3 percent; water supply, waste management, and wastewater treatment reached 322.4 billion VND, an increase of 8 percent. Meanwhile, the mining sector reached 252.4 billion, down 10.1 percent.
Thai Nguyen province has set a target of industrial production value in 2024 at 1,055.4 trillion VND. According to the calculations of the Statistics Office, to achieve the set plan, the industrial production value in the coming months must reach over 852 trillion VND, equivalent to an increase of 9.1percent compared to the same period and nearly 40 percent compared to the result of the first quarter of 2024.
