Thai Nguyen: Export value decreases by 29.6 percent over the same period

In January 2023, the province's total export turnover of goods was estimated at over 1.8 billion USD, up 25.4 percent over the previous month but down 29.6 percent over the same period in 2022.

 

According to the Thai Nguyen Statistics Department leader, the export value decreased because phones, tablets, and other electronic goods were estimated at 1.66 billion USD (accounting for nearly 92 percent of the total export value). This result decreased by more than 31 percent compared to the same period.

Three out of seven groups with export value in January 2023 were estimated to be higher than in the same period last year. In particular, the Transport spare parts group reached 0.7 million USD, an increase of 36.9 percent; the garment products group reached 42.4 million USD, rising 9.5 percent; the group of paper and paper products reached 0.4 million USD, up 8.4 percent over the same period.

The remaining export commodity groups were estimated to be lower than in the same period last year. In which, smartphones, tablets, and other electronic products group was evaluated at 1.66 billion USD, down 31 percent. The non-ferrous metal ores and non-ferrous metal concentrate group reached 25.4 million USD, down 4.7 percent. Besides, ​​all kinds of tea reached 0.2 million USD, down 5.7 percent.
