Recently, the Thai Nguyen Provincial People’s Committee held a working session with Thai Nguyen University to discuss major orientations for the province’s socio-economic development in connection with the university’s development strategy in the coming period, while also considering and addressing several recommendations and difficulties related to the development of essential infrastructure surrounding Thai Nguyen University. The meeting was attended by Mr. Vuong Quoc Tuan, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman Vuong Quoc Tuan emphasized that Thai Nguyen University is an important component in the province’s development structure and a prominent competitive advantage of Thai Nguyen compared with other localities in the region. In its long-term development strategy, Thai Nguyen Province is gradually orienting itself to become a center for research, application, and production of humanoid robots, taking the lead in strategic technology sectors. In this roadmap, Thai Nguyen University is identified as playing an important role in training high-quality human resources and developing research and technology transfer programs to serve the province’s industrial development.
Regarding the university’s recommendations on planning and expanding development space, the Chairman requested Thai Nguyen University to coordinate with relevant departments, sectors, and local authorities to conduct a comprehensive review of the overall planning, ensuring alignment with the province’s development orientation in the coming period, to complete the work in March 2026.
At the meeting, the two sides agreed to continue strengthening coordination in human resource training, scientific research, technology transfer, and innovation, while promoting the potential of the intellectuals and scientists of Thai Nguyen University to serve the province’s socio-economic development, contributing to making Thai Nguyen a center for education, science, and technology in the Northern Midlands and Mountainous region.
