Applying artificial intelligence in legal communication

In many communes and wards across Thai Nguyen Province, the fanpages of grassroots police forces are no longer limited to posting notices or public security updates as before, but are increasingly becoming dynamic and accessible “legal communication channels.” Notably, the application of artificial intelligence (AI) to create images, videos, and communication posters has introduced a new approach, making legal messages, often considered technical and formal, now more visual and easier for the public, especially young people, to engage with.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is being used by Tich Luong Ward Police to develop legal awareness content.

In recent months, Second Lieutenant Nguyen Ngoc Son has taken on a new role: developing and producing communication content for the fanpage of Tich Luong Ward Police. Although implemented for a relatively short time, the content has already attracted a certain level of engagement.

Second Lieutenant Nguyen Ngoc Son shared: “I have actively researched and explored AI tools to support content writing, image design, and video production, while learning from other units and following the guidance of my superiors to apply them appropriately to local conditions”.

The main formats include infographics summarizing legal regulations, situational warning videos, and communication posters. These products are often visually engaging, with relatable characters, sometimes designed in an animated style, creating a sense of familiarity for viewers. Short videos produced using AI technology also help audiences grasp key messages within just a few dozen seconds.

“The police use AI-generated images not just for aesthetics but also to show that they understand Gen Z psychology. Instead of long, dense texts, they have made legal regulations more approachable. When I see such AI posters or videos, I can feel the care and dedication behind them, and I’m always inclined to share them with my family and friends", student Nguyen Thu Huyen from University of Technology, Thai Nguyen University, said.

Content verification is given top priority, ensuring absolute accuracy of all published information. As a result, police fanpages at the commune and ward levels are becoming reliable sources for people seeking legal information, as well as effective channels for receiving and responding promptly to public inquiries.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Manh Ha, Deputy Head of Dai Phuc Commune Police, Thai Nguyen Province, informed: “The review process is carried out through a strict procedure. The content is first created by officers and then carefully reviewed by the commune police before being published. We also base our content on questions raised by the public, so we can provide timely responses”.

With the support of artificial intelligence, the results achieved so far have been highly encouraging, not only for the police force but also for other agencies and organizations to study and pilot similar approaches. This contributes to creating useful and engaging content, helping to build a law-abiding and well-informed society.
