In the first phase, the Department of Health seconded 46 doctors from 18 hospitals and the provincial Center for Disease Control to 41 health stations, aiming to improve the quality of medical examination and treatment and healthcare services for residents.
In practice, since the implementation of the two-tier local government model, the workload at the commune level has increased significantly, requiring healthcare staff to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Therefore, the secondment of doctors to local health stations is a practical solution to rapidly strengthen the grassroots healthcare workforce, improve the quality of public healthcare services, reduce pressure on higher-level facilities, and move toward building a fair, effective, and sustainable healthcare system.
Speaking at the program, Vice Chairman of the Thai Nguyen Provincial People’s Committee Nong Quang Nhat urged the 46 doctors seconded in the first phase to uphold a strong sense of responsibility, maintain medical ethics, and wholeheartedly serve the people, while making full use of their professional expertise and experience. He also called on them to enhance guidance, training, and technical transfer, and to support the improvement of professional qualifications and practical skills of local healthcare staff, thereby contributing to the sustainable strengthening of grassroots healthcare capacity.
