VND 551 billion allocated to implement tourism development project No. 17

The Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee has recently issued Project No. 17 on tourism development for the 2026–2030 period, aiming to make tourism an important economic sector, developed in a sustainable and highly competitive sector.

Under the project, by 2030, Thai Nguyen aims to welcome around 12 million tourist arrivals, including 1 million international visitors. Total tourism revenue is expected to exceed VND 25 trillion per year, creating jobs for approximately 10,000 workers. The project identifies Nui Coc Lake and Ba Be Lake as the province’s two key tourism areas. During the 2026–2030 period, the province plans to allocate VND 551 billion from the state budget for tourism development. This funding will focus on investing in infrastructure at community-based tourism sites, supporting accommodation facilities, developing tourism products, promoting and marketing, organizing cultural and tourism events, building brand awareness, and facilitating digital transformation.
