On the morning of 10 December, the Thai Nguyen Department of Education and Training inaugurated the Provincial Science and Engineering Competition for secondary students for the 2025-2026 academic year.

The competition attracted 234 registered projects from 65 communes and wards, 43 upper-secondary schools, and one Centre for Vocational Education, an increase of 17 projects compared to the previous academic year. The Organizing Committee selected 184 projects across 17 fields, involving 358 students from 41 upper-secondary schools and 49 communes/wards to participate in the official judging round; of these, 109 were at the upper-secondary level and 75 at the lower-secondary level.
Notably, there was a sharp increase in projects related to artificial intelligence and STEM education, reflecting a positive shift in students’ research orientations. This marks the 14th year the province has organized the competition, aimed at encouraging students to pursue scientific and technological research, apply knowledge to real-world contexts, promote STEM education, and innovate teaching and learning methods.
