Building a women-friendly startup ecosystem

On the morning of November 30, Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính attended an online conference summarizing Project 939, “Supporting Women’s Startups in the 2017-2025 period,” and launching tasks for the 2026-2035 period. At the Thai Nguyen remote site, the conference was attended by leaders of the Provincial Women’s Union and representatives from relevant departments and agencies.

After eight years of implementation, the Project has met and exceeded all targets, supporting over 118,000 women in starting businesses; establishing 1,666 new cooperatives and over 6,000 cooperative groups managed by women; and providing consultation and support to 130,000 women-led enterprises.

In Thai Nguyen, in relation to this Project, more than 800 women were supported in starting businesses; 45 cooperatives and over 200 cooperative groups managed by women were established; more than 1,200 conferences and training sessions were organized for 70,000 women; vocational training was provided to 7,400 female workers; and over 4,600 billion VND in capital was mobilized for more than 58,600 loans.

For the 2026-2035 period, the Project aims to build a women-friendly startup ecosystem, promoting digital transformation, green transformation, circular economy, and ESG criteria. Targets for the upcoming period include providing legal consultation and support to 75,000 women-led enterprises, cooperatives, and business households; assisting 25,000 business households to transition into enterprises; enabling 30,000 women-led enterprises to participate in digital transformation; and achieving a 35% rate of female leadership.
