From June 9 to 16, in Hue City, the Ministry of Education and Training, coordinating with the People's Committee of Hue City, organized the 2025 National High School Sports Tournament. It is a large-scale annual sporting event aimed at promoting physical training, improving health, and fostering well-rounded education for students nationwide.

This year's competition attracted nearly 2,300 student-athletes from 53 provinces and cities, competing in five sports: Football, Basketball, Athletics, Swimming, and Vovinam, with 186 sets of medals awarded. The participants were students aged 18 and under currently enrolled in primary, lower secondary, and upper secondary schools.
The Thai Nguyen delegation participated with 44 athletes representing schools throughout the province. These students were carefully selected from local school sports programs and are known for their athletic ability, talent, and passion for sports.
With a spirit of determination and sportsmanship, the Thai Nguyen team won 13 medals, including 7 in Athletics (2 Gold, 1 Silver, and 4 Bronze) and 6 Bronze medals in Swimming.
