According to recently announced results, in 2024, Thai Nguyen scored 46.3487 points (an increase from 45.7875 points in 2023), placing it in the high-performing group nationwide in the Provincial Governance and Public Administration Performance Index (PAPI).

The PAPI survey in Thai Nguyen was conducted in 12 residential clusters and neighborhoods across 6 commune-level units in Thai Nguyen City, Pho Yen City, and Dinh Hoa District, with the participation of 240 respondents.

PAPI has been piloted since 2009 and serves as a tool for citizens to participate in monitoring the performance of local governments in policy implementation at the grassroots level across eight key content areas. In 2024, more than 18,890 randomly selected citizens nationwide participated in the survey. Quang Ninh Province led the country in the PAPI rankings for 2024, while Kien Giang Province received the lowest rating.
