Signing many cooperation agreements with South Korea's parters

Continuing the working program of the Thai Nguyen Province delegation in South Korea, on November 26, a Digital and Green Technology Cooperation Workshop between Thai Nguyen province and its partners was held at the Vietnamese Embassy in South Korea.

The workshop attracted nearly 100 delegates representing Vietnamese and South Korean business communities, exploring cooperation and investment opportunities. Comrade Nguyen Huy Dung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and Vietnamese Ambassador to South Korea Vu Ho co-chaired the Workshop.

On the side of Thai Nguyen province, the workshop was attended by Members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee: Pham Thai Hanh, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission; Pham Van Tho, Head of the Provincial Party Committee’s Internal Affairs Commission; and leadership representatives of a number of departments, branches and enterprises of Thai Nguyen province.

The Workshop was held in the context that FDI inflows from South Korea to Thai Nguyen continue to grow and Vietnamese businesses in general and the business community of Thai Nguyen province in particular has been increasingly cooperating with the Korean side.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee expressed sincere gratitude to the corporations and businesses attending the workshop, while emphasizing that the province's planning until 2030, with a vision to 2050, identifies digital technology and green transformation as key priorities. These are also the investment attraction focus areas for Thai Nguyen, with attractive, open investment policies. The province is currently studying the implementation of specific policies for these two fields.

Thai Nguyen aims to build a sustainable circular economic ecosystem, targeting Net Zero goals. In the immediate term, this involves attracting advanced technology projects in recycling, waste treatment and renewable energy, enhancing production efficiency and minimizing environmental impact.

Speaking to investors at the workshop, Ambassador Vu Ho affirmed: In recent years, Thai Nguyen has been a top destination for South Korean corporations. In the future, the dynamic local government system, combined with existing potential and strengths, will continue to present attractive investment and cooperation opportunities for South Korea. The investment and cooperation fields of Thai Nguyen province are also the primary concerns of current South Korean corporations and businesses. The Ambassador agreed to strengthen communication channels between the Embassy and the province to promptly address the concerns of South Korean corporations and businesses.

Within the workshop's framework, under the witness of the Vietnamese Ambassador to South Korea and Thai Nguyen Province leadership, representatives from several corporations, businesses and educational institutions from Thai Nguyen and South Korea signed multiple important documents.

Representatives from Thai Nguyen Department of Planning and Investment and Samsung E&A signed a circular economy cooperation document. Samsung E&A, established in 1970 and part of the Samsung Group, specializes in environmental, bio-industry and petroleum infrastructure sectors. Samsung E&A will research and propose green economic development models to help Thai Nguyen achieve sustainable growth, environmental protection and improved quality of life for citizens. In 2024 and 2025, Samsung E&A will study and plan potential circular economy investment projects in Thai Nguyen's industrial zones.

Representatives from Thai Nguyen University and Seoul Cyber University signed a digital university cooperation agreement. The collaboration aims to build and integrate unified data, develop shared digital and open learning resources, research materials and a system of shared laboratories. Training human resources for the semiconductor industry will be a key focus area.

Representatives of Neuromeka Co., Ltd. and Vocational College No. 1 under Ministry of National Defense signed a cooperation agreement on Digital College with a focus on implementing a Robot and Automation Center project and opening a new major in control and automation engineering in industry. By February 2026, the Digital College will complete all project components and commence operations.

In the working program at the Vietnamese Embassy in South Korea, Thai Nguyen province Delegation offered incense and commemorated President Ho Chi Minh.
