107 prisoners in Thai Nguyen's prison receive amnesty decision

The Phu Son 4 Prison in Phu Luong district, Thai Nguyen province, announced the list of those eligible for amnesty at a ceremony held at the Phu Son 4 Prison on October 1.

According to Decision 957/QD-CTN signed by President To Lam on September 29, 3,763 prisoners who are currently serving sentences and two others who had their sentences temporarily suspended will be pardoned. The President signed the decision at the request of the Advisory Council on Amnesty on the occasion of the 79th anniversary of National Day and the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital. The amnesty decision takes effect from October 1. Among those serving sentences at Phu Son 4 Prison, 107 prisoners are granted amnesty.

Previously, Phu Son 4 Prison coordinated to implement the amnesty policy, completing the documentation and carefully reviewing the cases, ensuring that it was appropriate, transparent, objective, democratic, and in accordance with the law.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front's Central Committee, Truong Thi Ngoc Anh, emphasized that the amnesty confirms the leniency policy of the Party and State and the humanitarian tradition of the nation towards those who have committed crimes, encouraging them to repent, reform, and actively study and train to become valuable members of society.

For the people who did not receive amnesty this year, Truong Thi Ngoc Anh hopes they will make even more effort to strictly comply with legal regulations and the prison's internal rules to meet soon the conditions to benefit from the leniency of the Party and State.
