Prime Minister approves election results of Chairman of Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee

On September 14, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed Decision No. 983/QD-TTg to approve the election results for the position of Chairman of the Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term. Mr. Nguyen Huy Dung, who is currently the Deputy Secretary of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term, has been appointed to this position.

Nguyen Huy Dung elected as Chairman of Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee

The new Chairman of the Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee, Nguyen Huy Dung.

With 98.43 percent of the votes in favor, Mr. Nguyen Huy Dung was elected Chairman of the Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term by the 14th Provincial People's Council.

Mr. Nguyen Huy Dung, born in 1983, is originally from Nam Tu Liem district, Hanoi. He holds a Master's degree in Information Technology and graduated from university in Singapore, trained advanced political theory program. He has held various positions, including Deputy Director and Director of the Authority of Information Security, and Director of the Department of Information Technology. Mr. Nguyen Huy Dung served as Deputy Minister of Information and Communications from 2020 to 2024, as well as Vice President of the Vietnam Youth Federation and Vice President of the National Cyber Security Association.

On August 27, 2024, the Central Committee of the Communist Party appointed Mr. Nguyen Huy Dung, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications, as Deputy Secretary of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.
