The 15th "Tourism through Viet Bac heritage region" program opened on Sunday in Bac Kan city with impressive performances by six art troupes.

Viet Bac was the location of the headquarters of the Communist Party of Vietnam before the uprising against French domination in 1945, and the headquarters of the Viet Minh government during the war of resistance against the French colonialists from 1945 to 1954.
One of the spectators was impressed with opening ceremony. He said “I personally find that the land of the Viet Bac war zone is very rich in the culture of the ethnic communities. The people are so honest and hospitable, something that southern tourists like us really like.”
“Talking about Viet Bac cuisine, I find it very rich, going through each region with its unique dish,” another spectator said.
The annual culture-tourism program is held alternately among six provinces including Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Lang Son, Tuyen Quang, Ha Giang and Thai Nguyen.
This year's five-day program is offering OCOP (one commune, one product) agricultural product festival and cuisine of six provinces, an exhibition of paintings and photos of Viet Bac, Bac Kan mountain bike racing tournament, and a tour guide competition.
Bac Kan province is also organizing events to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Bac Kan, August 24.
