Thai Nguyen's industrial production index up 8.48 percent

In July 2024, the Industrial Production Index (IIP) of Thai Nguyen is estimated to have increased by 1.17 percent compared to the previous month and by 8.48 percent compared to the same period in 2023. The IIP has risen by 7.15 percent year-on-year for the past seven months.

The IIP for July 2024 shows promising growth, driven mainly by the province's leading industrial sector, manufacturing and processing, which grew positively at 8.72 percent. Notably, some second-tier industrial sectors experienced double-digit increases in their production indices, such as: apparel production 12.93 percent; electronics 12.99 percent; rubber and plastic products 17.59 percent; and motor vehicle production 51.22 percent.

Additionally, the mining sector grew by 15.3 percent, and the water supply, waste management, and wastewater treatment sector increased by 27.34 percent. However, compared to the same period last year, the electricity distribution sector experienced a decrease of 14.64 percent.
