Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien: Thai Nguyen has a favorable geoeconomic position

On August 15, the delegation of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, led by Mr Nguyen Hong Dien, the Party Central Committee Member and Minister of Industry and Trade, worked with Thai Nguyen province on the status of industrial production and trade, as well as the implementation of national sectoral plans in the fields of energy and minerals.

Mr Trinh Viet Hung, the Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, attended the meeting.

During the meeting, the province requested the Ministry of Industry and Trade to consider adjusting and adding to the Plan for implementing the Eighth Power Plan concerning the 220kV Phu Binh 2 substation and the 220kV Phu Binhtransmission line. Moreover, the province also requested adjustments to the locations of industrial clusters in the provincial Plan that overlap with areas designated for mining in the overall energy and mineral planning...

The delegation members suggested that the province continue to review the national Plan in conjunction with the provincial Plan, attract investment, develop the supporting industries, and strengthen management after investment.

Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of Thai Nguyen People's Committee, Trinh Viet Hung, requested the Ministry of Industry and Trade to continue addressing difficulties for Thai Nguyen Iron and Steel JSC to achieve new development with a new scale and position. He also asked to introduce large domestic and international economic groups to invest in the province's industrial, trade, and technical infrastructure projects.

Minister Nguyen Hong Dien stated that the province should focus on reviewing and resolving difficulties and obstacles for key ongoing projects. He recommended that the province focus on developing fundamental industries where it has strengths, such as supporting industries, metallurgy, manufacturing, and deep processing of minerals.

As part of the visit, the Minister visited the production facility of TNG Investment and Trading Joint Stock Company in the Son Cam 1 Industrial Cluster.
