10th National Phu Dong Sports Festival: Thai Nguyen ranks 9th out of 63 provinces and cities

On the afternoon of August 6, the closing ceremony of the 10th National Phu Dong Sports Festival, 2024, was held at the Viet Tiep Cultural Palace (Hai Phong City).

At the closing ceremony, the Ministry of Education and Training awarded flags of excellence to the top 10 out of 63 provinces and cities.

After nearly 10 days of vibrant competition, the Organizing Committee awarded 271 sets of medals to athletes across 15 sports. At the closing ceremony, the Organizing Committee presented flags to 10 units with outstanding achievements, 20 units with commendable results, and 10 outstanding units from mountainous areas.

The Thai Nguyen delegation ranked 9th out of 63 provinces and cities, with 2,345 points, and was awarded a flag of excellence by the Ministry of Education and Training along with the 10 provinces and cities with the best performance. The delegation won 123 medals, including 27 Gold, 23 Silver, and 73 Bronze across both stages; in the second stage alone, Thai Nguyen athletes earned 2 Gold, 5 Silver, and 14 Bronze medals.

The 10th National Phu Dong Sports Festival was the largest ever held.
