Update 8.8 million trees on Thai Nguyen Smart Trees App

Recently, forest management, protection, and development efforts in Thai Nguyen province have achieved positive results, maintaining a stable forest coverage rate of over 46 percent. The total area of extensive timber forests and forests certified for sustainable management is 11,929 hectares, including 8,184 hectares of extensive timber forests and 3,745 hectares certified under the FSC sustainable forest management standard.

Implementing the Prime Minister's initiative on planting one billion trees in the 2021-2025 period, the province has successfully planted 9.2 million trees, achieving 113 percent of the phase's target (including 3.3 million dispersed trees and 5.9 million concentrated trees). 8.8 million trees have been updated on the Thai Nguyen SmartTrees application, complete with images and coordinates, allowing for comprehensive data export on these trees.

In 2024, the province aims to plant 3,543 hectares of concentrated forests. 2,750 hectares of concentrated forests have been planted in the first half of the year, reaching 80.9 percent of the plan.
