Evaluating PCI Index, announcing DDCI in 2023

On the afternoon of June 18, Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee organized a conference to evaluate the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) and Provincial Green Index (PGI); Announcing the results of the District and Department Competitiveness Index (DDCI) in 2023.

In 2023, Thai Nguyen's PCI got a total score of 67.48. This result has ranked the province 23rd on the PCI index rankings, increasing 2 positions compared to 2022, in the group of 30 localities with the best management in the country, including 5/10 indicators increased compared to 2022.

For the DDCI Index, 2023 was the third year the province has conducted surveys and assessed the business community's satisfaction with 32 units (including 23 departments, divisions, and 9 districts and cities). With a scale of 100 points, the average score of the DDCI Index of departments and branches in 2023 is 86.62 points (increasing 0.02 points compared to 2022). The Department of Information and Communications unit has the highest DDCI score, with 87.95 points. For districts and cities, the average score of the DDCI Index is 85.87 points (increasing 0.22 points compared to 2022); Thai Nguyen City is the locality with the highest score - 87.58 points.

Thai Nguyen province's Provincial Green Index (PGI) in 2023 was 20.85 points (increasing 4.8 points compared to 2022), with 3/4 of the component indexes increased.

At the conference, Mr. Le Quang Tien, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and Deputy Head of the Provincial PCI Steering Committee, emphasized several key tasks that departments, sectors, and localities should mainly focus on. These include actively implementing support mechanisms and policies and enhancing dialogue to promptly and conclusively resolve difficulties and obstacles businesses and investors face.

At the conference, representatives of the Provincial Business Association proposed measures to improve the results of PCI, DDCI, and PGI in 2024 and the following years.
