To cooperate in training and research with Hiroshima University

On December 14, Mr. Dang Xuan Truong, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, chaired a reception and worked with the delegation of Hiroshima University (HU), Japan, on cooperation in training, scientific research, and technology transfer. Leaders of several departments, branches of the province and Thai Nguyen University attended the meeting.

At the meeting, Mr. Ochi Mitsuo, President of HU gave an overview of the university. It is one of the first national universities in Japan, constantly creating achievements in training, scientific research and actively participating in the globalization process. Currently, HU is training 1,750 international students from 85 countries, including 65 Vietnamese students. To date, 343 former Vietnamese students have graduated here.

HU has many strengths in teaching, scientific research and technology transfer, especially in 4 fields: Agriculture, semiconductors, carbon neutrality and smart cities, which HU plans to cooperate in Vietnam. In the immediate future, HU hopes to establish a satellite campus at the University of Agriculture and Forestry (Thai Nguyen University), and is expected to begin enrolling students for doctoral training in agronomy in October 2024. Then, HU will expand training links and long-term cooperation with the University of Agriculture and Forestry and members of Thai Nguyen University.

Mr. Ochi Mitsuo expressed his hope that the People's Committee of Thai Nguyen Province and other departments and branches will create favorable conditions for the cooperation between two universities to achieve the best results.

On behalf of the leaders of Thai Nguyen province, Mr. Dang Xuan Truong thanked HU's interest in cooperation with the province, especially Mr. Ochi Mitsuo, a leading professor in Japan.

He pledged that Thai Nguyen province would accompany and create favorable conditions for Hiroshima University to cooperate in training, scientific research, and technology transfer with the province and Thai Nguyen University.
