Thai Nguyen leader works with WB's delegation

On the afternoon of December 12, Mr. Le Quang Tien, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, had a working session with World Bank's delegation on the progress of implementing the the Dynamic Urban Integrated Development Project - Thai Nguyen City.

The project has a total investment of 100 million USD, with WB's loan capital being 57 million USD, and the remaining is the local counterpart fund. The project consists of two components: Structural investment - upgrading and improving urban infrastructure (with 9 investment items); Non-structural investment - technical support and implementation support (17 bidding packages).

According to the assessment, the bidding packages for both components ensure progress. To date, 14 construction bidding packages within the 9 items of the structural investment component have been handed over and put into use. The 17 non-structural investment component bidding packages are essentially completed and are currently in the settlement process. Currently, the project has disbursed 85.46 percent of the total loan capital; the total counterpart fund has reached 78 percent.

At the working session, relevant provincial agencies and WB representatives exchanged, discussed, and clarified some issues related to completing the settlement procedures for construction bidding packages and provided advice to ensure the disbursement of the loan capital.

He directed relevant departments and sectors to closely coordinate with Thai Nguyen City to expedite the assessment and approval of settlements for bidding packages and construction items as required by WB. In particular, for the 3 non-structural bidding packages, relevant departments and sectors instructed the People's Committee of Thai Nguyen City to follow procedures to ensure the project is completed on schedule.
