Recently, Thai Nguyen province took part in the 2023 APCERT Cyber Drill with the topic “Digital Supply Chain Redemption”.

The Asia Pacific Computer Emergency Response Team (APCERT) held its annual drill to test the response capabilities of leading Computer Security Incident Response Teams (CSIRT) among the Asia Pacific economies.

The topic of this year’s APCERT Drill is “Digital Supply Chain Redemption.” This exercise reflects real incidents and issues that exist on the Internet today.

Thai Nguyen Province participates in the drill through online means, connecting with the Apcert system. Members of the Cybersecurity and Network Security Response Team within the province; the Center for Information Technology and Communication; experts from various entities and enterprises: VNPT Thai Nguyen, Viettel Thai Nguyen, and Thai Nguyen University of Information and Communication Technology joined the drill.

This drill requires the participating teams to interact locally and internationally with CSIRTs/CERTs and targeted organizations to coordinate the suspension of malicious infrastructure, analysis of malicious code, as well as notification and assistance to affected entities. This incident response exercise, coordinated across many economies, reflects the collaboration amongst the economies in mitigating cyber threats and validates the enhanced communication protocols, technical capabilities, and quality of incident responses that APCERT fosters in assuring Internet security and safety.

The drill aims to create real-life scenarios for the management and information technology security personnel to learn, improve practical experience, proactively identify risks, enhance prevention capabilities, and respond to cybersecurity incidents. This helps assess the maturity of incident response and contributes to creating a unified understanding, strengthening collaboration between the incident response teams of various units and localities.
