Implementing the agricultural restructuring project for the 2021-2025 tenure, Pho Yen City has focused on planning, forming many specialized production areas, improving production quality and efficiency.

Specifically, a concentrated vegetable production area has been established in Dong Cao ward (with a scale of 60 hectares); fruit production areas (300 hectares) in Minh Duc, Phuc Tan, Phuc Thuan and Thanh Cong communes. The locality also implemented many production models, transferring science and technology (saving irrigation, good agricultural practices...); put new varieties into production, with a total support budget of over 20 billion VND.

Through the agricultural restructuring project, the contribution to increasing the production value in 2022 is expected to reach 126 million VND per hectare for both cultivation and aquaculture (a 10 percent increase compared to 2021). The agricultural, forestry, and aquaculture sectors are targeted to achieve an average annual growth of 4.5 percent. Additionally, the city aims to have 7 products recognized with at least a 3-star rating under the One Commune One Product (OCOP) program."

In the upcoming time, Pho Yen City will continue to promote and concentrate resources on investing in the development of agriculture and rural areas. There will be a focus on researching and developing livestock farming according to VietGAP standards. Strengthening cooperation and linking production with agricultural product consumption, establishing large-scale farming areas, and developing agricultural services along the value chain are also among the key initiatives.
