SEVT: an impressive 9-year journey

March 25, 2013, is a memorable milestone for Samsung Vietnam and the industrialization process of Thai Nguyen. It was the founding day of Samsung Electronics Vietnam Thai Nguyen - SEVT, the largest phone production facility of Samsung Group globally. SEVT has continuously developed with impressive results, making outstanding contributions to the overall development of the province.

SEVT's 9th birthday celebration started with "SEVT for a green Vietnam" program. Accordingly, Mr. Trinh Viet Hung, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee; representatives of departments, branches, and localities; Mr. Lee Byeong Kuk, General Director of Samsung Thai Nguyen participated in planting 3,000 flowers of all kinds (worth VND 150 million).

SEVT awarded the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development VND 200 million for planting trees in the province. 

SEVT's birthday party took place with many attendees who are employees of the Company, who have seniority, trust and always work hard to develop together with SEVT. 

The participants reviewed SEVT's 9-year journey of being in Thai Nguyen through outstanding imprints and achievements. 
Samsung kept its promise to increase investment capital and expand production. Recently, Samsung increased investment in Thai Nguyen by nearly USD 1 billion (from USD 1.35 billion to USD 2.27 billion), creating an unprecedented inflow of FDI into the province.

Mr. Lee Byeong Kuk affirmed that SEVT, during the past 9-years, has consistently received the attention, facilitation, and companionship of all levels, sectors, and people. 

After SEVT's operation, the process of industrialization, export value, and transformation of labour structure in the province have had an extreme and significant change. The province's industrial production value in 2021 reached VND 844,000 billion, the export value reached over USD 28.85 billion (ranked among the top in the country), in which SEVT's contribution accounts for the majority. The province's economic growth and budget revenue targets have also achieved impressive results.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Chairman believes that SEVT will develop even more strongly and actively contribute to social activities. He affirmed that all levels and branches will always create the most favourable conditions for SEVT within Vietnamese law.
