Thai Nguyen leader attends investment promotion activities in Korea

On the official visit to the Republic of Korea, Vietnamese National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue attended many activities to promote diplomatic relations between the two sides and met leaders of Korean Corporations, leading enterprises such as Samsung, SK, Lotte… Attending the NA Chairman Hue's trip was Ms. Nguyen Thanh Hai, Member of The Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation. 

At the Vietnam - RoK Business Forum in Seoul on December 13, NA Chairman Hue supports upgrading the relationship between the two countries to a comprehensive strategic partnership, striving to lift two-way trade to USD100 billion by 2023, and USD150 billion by 2030.

At a meeting with Samsung Electronics leaders, National Assembly Chairman Hue said that Vietnam is transitioning to a policy of safe adaptation to Covid-19 and will soon resume commercial flights, expected from January 1, 2022. Vietnam welcomes Samsung Group's investment in the Innovation Research Center and hopes that Samsung will manufacture semiconductors to create a closed high-tech chain in line with the company's strengths in Vietnam. Viet Nam highly appreciates Samsung Group's plan to support Vietnamese businesses to participate in the global supply chain, and suggested that the group have specific strategies and solutions to support Vietnamese businesses to improve production capacity and be able to participate in the global supply chain of Samsung Group and Samsung Electronics Company.

Samsung Electronics operates in high-tech fields such as developing and manufacturing household electronic products, mobile phones, semiconductors, and telecommunications equipment. Samsung Electronics is currently one of the largest FDI companies in Vietnam with a total investment of more than US$17.7 billion with factories in Bac Ninh and Thai Nguyen provinces. 

At a meeting with SK and Lotte Group, he emphasized that Viet Nam supports the company's business expansion plan in the near future. 

Also, at the meeting with the Korean Groups and enterprises, the Secretary of Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee welcomes their investment in Thai Nguyen. The province deploys many specific plans and programs to call for foreign businesses, especially Korean ones, associated with the Samsung "ecosystem" and the Yen Binh Centralized Information Technology Park. 

At the forum, the top legislators of the two countries witnessed the signing of cooperation agreements between Vietnamese localities with Korean businesses. In particular, the Secretary of Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee signed a memorandum of understanding to implement the 2nd MDF production line project with the leaders of Dongwha Vietnam Enterprise in Thai Nguyen.
