Secretary of Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee presents 188 tablet computers to disadvantaged students

On December 29, Ms. Nguyen Thanh Hai, Member of The Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, presented tablet computers for learning to disadvantaged students in Pho Yen town. 

At the ceremony, 17 disadvantaged students under Hong Tien 1 and 2 Primary schools and Hong Tien Secondary school, represented 188 underprivileged students in Pho Yen town, were received tablet computers from the program “Internet and computers for students". 

The Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and the provincial leaders presented tablet computers to disadvantaged students in Pho Yen town. 

Speaking at the ceremony, the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee expressed her pleasure to visit, encourage and directly present tablet computers to students of three schools. She emphasized that online learning is one of the optimal solutions in flexible teaching and learning in response to the current COVID-19 situation, ensuring "Stop going to school but don't stop learning". Therefore, before December 31, 2021, Pho Yen Town and schools need to give 171 tablet computers to remaining students to serve their learning. She also wished that these gifts would be a valuable resource to help students overcome difficulties and study well. 

Responding to the Program “Internet and computers for students"  launched by the Prime Minister, with the motto "no student will be left behind by remote learning", Thai Nguyen province soon deployed and mobilized all resources to implement the program. The province has mobilized VND 10.5 billion to buy 4,315 tablet computers to support disadvantaged students. Through the review, the number of students without online learning devices who have difficult circumstances in the province was 4,707 (4,587 high school students, 120 college students); 122 areas without internet infrastructure, 95 and 133 areas without 3G, 4G waves.
