To best perform foreign mission, contributing socio-economic development

On November 2, Ms. Nguyen Thanh Hai, the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, presided over the meeting with the Thai Nguyen Department of Foreign Affairs. Attending the meeting were leaders of relevant departments, branches. 

Speaking at the meeting, the Department of Foreign Affairs leader reported the results in implementing assigned tasks. Accordingly, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many foreign affairs activities had to be paused and adjusted. Thai Nguyen province was still proactive and flexible in organizing activates in line with the current situation, thereby, maintaining and strengthening traditional relationships, expanding cooperation with foreign localities; economic, cultural, and people-to-people diplomacy has been carried out, bringing about relevant results.

There are currently five active friendship associations in the province and 58 licensed NGOs. The disbursement value of non-governmental projects in 2021 is estimated at USD 750,672, rising 4.64 percent compared to the same period in 2020. 

Concluding the meeting, the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee said that foreign affairs play an important and necessary role in the country's economic development, serving local economic and social development. She also noted that the foreign affairs sector needs to promote research to build an identity set of Thai Nguyen province to be printed on gifts and to promote the province's image.
