Inauguration of oxygen supply system worth VND 1.5 billion

On November 23, at Thai Nguyen Gang Thep Hospital, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held to inaugurate and hand over the oxygen supply system to treat Covid-19 patients. Ms. Nguyen Thanh Hai, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Mr. Dang Xuan Truong, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee attended the ceremony.

Gang Thep Hospital is a two-level provincial general hospital with 500 planned beds, 662 actual beds. Based on the plan of the Provincial People's Committee, the Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control assigned for Gang Thep Hospital to collect and treat patients with the capacity of 350 beds to ensure the "3-storey tower" stratification for patient treatment. In the first floor tower, patients with no symptoms and mild symptoms are 250 people; in the 2nd-floor tower, the average symptomatic patient is 100 people.

The current state of the hospital's facilities is still modest compared to other hospitals of the same class in the province. Much medical equipment for patients has not been met. 

To create favorable conditions for the Gang Thep Hospital to be proactive and ensure the requirements, Thai Nguyen Iron and Steel Joint Stock Company has gifted the hospital an oxygen supply system worth 1.5 billion VND.

Emphasizing the motto "fighting against the pandemic like fighting against the enemy,"; the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee highly appreciated the participation and contribution of businesses inside and outside the province to Thai Nguyen's pandemic prevention and control. The inauguration of the oxygen supply system is a preparation step of Thai Nguyen province in collecting and treating Covid-19 patients, meeting the pandemic scenario that has been planned in the spirit of safe adaptation, flexibility, and effective control.
