Thai Nguyen prepares for COVID-19 situations

On September 9, the Provincial People's Committee held a conference to implement measures to prevent and control the COVID-19 pandemic. Mr. Trinh Viet Hung, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control; Mr. Dang Xuan Truong, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Standing Deputy Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control co-chaired the conference.

Although Thai Nguyen is a green zone but is still considered a high-risk province for the disease, with 14 detected cases of COVID-19.  1,200 people are currently concentrated in isolation; over 128 thousand doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been injected into more than 86.5 thousand people.

To serve the COVID-19 prevention and control, Thai Nguyen has taken approximately 113 thousand test samples, applying information technology and preparing necessary human and material resources conditions.

The province has consolidated the Steering Committee for COVID-19 prevention and control at all levels and established nearly 2,400 community COVID-19 groups in 9 districts, cities, and towns with more than 17.7 thousand participants. In particular, the province has a plan to respond to the collection and treatment of COVID-19 patients according to the model of 3-storey and 5-storey towers. The province has four field hospitals with 10.9 thousand beds. 

 

The delegates discuss the important contents at the conference. 

The Department of Construction informed about the diagram of hospitals receiving and treating COVID-19 patients at the conference. Besides, the Provincial Police reported about controlling and managing people entering the province. 

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Trinh Viet Hung requested that the health sector coordinate with other sectors to develop possible situations promptly and speed up medical staff training, doctors in active resuscitation, and preventive medicine. In addition, he directed the Information - Communication sector to complete the unified medical declaration system applied in the whole province. Further, functional forces have to strengthen the management of people's movement in the coming time.
