On the afternoon of August 26, Mr. Trinh Viet Hung, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control and Mr. Dang Xuan Truong, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Standing Deputy Head of the Steering Committee of the Provincial People's Committee co-chaired the working session with Departments, branches and localities of the province.
According to the report, Thai Nguyen has passed nine days without any new cases in the community. However, with 27 cases detected, Thai Nguyen is considered a high-risk province for the disease.
At this period, the province continues to strengthen control of cases returning from pandemic regions; manage cases positive for SARS-CoV-2 after being cured and people who have completed centralized isolation; inspect, supervise and handle violations in pandemic prevention and control; screening and vaccination against COVID-19. To date, nearly 120.3 thousand doses of vaccine have been injected for over 86.1 thousand people.
The province has prepared 61 concentrated isolation facilities; established 2,392 community COVID-19 groups in districts, cities, and towns; ensuring human resources, facilities to collect and treat COVID-19 patients.
The province also supports Thai Nguyen people living and working in 22 southern provinces in the pandemic region. To date, about 600 people have been supported.
At the meeting, the presentative of the Department of Education informed on the preparation for the new school year 2021-2022 in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee delivered his speech at the meeting.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Trinh Viet Hung noted and praised the responsibility of the members of the Provincial Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control. However, he requested the localities actively implement measures to prevent and control the pandemic, maintain the province as a "green" zone; ready to ensure four options; meet level 5 in pandemic prevention and control.
