In recent times, the complicated situation of the COVID-19 has made export activities weakened. So, the sectors and branches set out the direct and indirect solutions to support enterprises. On the other hand, export enterprises actively find out the favorable market as the nations and territories which controlled the pandemic.

Mr. Nguyen Van Huy, Deputy Director of Thai Nguyen Sub-Department of Customs: Although many localities face difficulties in export, the provincial export result is still impressive. It is forecasted that from now to the end of this year, commodity exports will increase enormously when many FDI enterprises officially go into production from the third quarter.

In the past years, the province consistently ranked the top leading its export turnover, mainly electronics components, smartphones, garments. Only in the first half, the province's total export value is estimated at USD 13.4 billion, rising 13.5 percent compared to the same period last year, equal to 47.7 percent of the year plan. FDI enterprises played a pivotal role with 90 percent of this result, increasing 13.6 percent over the same period.

Facing the COVID-19 pandemic, the export enterprises deployed many solutions to maintain their activities and ensure laborer's income. SEVT has been collaborating with the local government to implement strict measures to control and prevent the pandemic. The unit has divided into shifts in production to be stable jobs. The transportation of experts from Korea to Vietnam strictly complies with regulations on COVID-19 prevention and control. Therefore, the whole production and export process of SEVT is not interrupted, maintaining the province's top position in export. Speaking at the ceremony to mark 700 million products, Mr. Lee Byeong Kuk, General Director of SEVT, said: The pandemic has seriously affected all aspects of social life and caused many difficulties for enterprises. However, with the spirit of solidarity, Thai Nguyen province has well-controlled the pandemic situation. SEVT is very happy to reach 700 million products.

In the first half of this year, TNG Investment and Trading Joint Stock Company still led enterprises exporting garment products. At the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak, the Company's supply of raw materials and accessories was interrupted. The export value decreased because many markets could not control the pandemic. So, TNG has actively switched to producing masks and medical protective clothing while maintaining production and keeping jobs for more than 10,000 workers. Currently, TNG manufactures and supplies over 100,000 medical masks on average to the market per day. Mr. Nguyen Van Thoi, Chairman of the Board of Directors, informed: The unit produces more pandemic prevention and control products to achieve all three goals, including the COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control, stabilizing jobs for employees, and ensuring the revenue. These products are recognized as meeting European standards, so the Company received many export orders.

The main export products in the first six months are still smartphones, tablets, and electronic components, which reached USD 12.8 billion, increasing 13.9 percent over the same period last year, equal to 46.5 percent of the year plan); paper and paper products gained USD 1.9 million, rising 21.4 percent, equal to 55.4 percent); garment products created USD 191.4 million, increasing 9.7%, equal to 58 percent).

Some other export enterprises in the province also updated information to find out the market actively. For example, Nui Phao Mining and Mineral Processing Limited Company negotiated with partners to export a large amount of copper concentrate to create cash flow for production, create jobs and stable income for employees, fulfill the obligation to pay the State budget.

Mr. Nguyen Ba Chinh, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, said: The Industry and Trade sector has advised the Provincial People's Committee to continue supporting export enterprises. In the coming time, we will organize more training courses on the contents related to the EVFTA Trade Agreement; set out the program to support enterprises in accessing the Agreement, thereby promoting the export value.
