The 12th “Crossing the Heritage Lands of the Viet Bac Region” tourism program kicks off

On the evening of 21st April, the 12th “Crossing the Heritage Lands of the Viet Bac Region” tourism program kicked off in the Culture Center of Thai Nguyen province. 

 Mr Trinh Viet Hung, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr Pham Hoang Son, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Mr Doan Van Viet, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism , Mr Duong Van Luong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee of the program, leaders of provinces in the Viet Bac region and neighboring provinces attended the opening ceremony.

The program will take place until the end of 23rd April. It includes the survey program of the cultural, historical, and ecotourism destinations and routes in Thai Nguyen; the Forum with the theme "Tourism Development Cooperation in 6 provinces of Viet Bac region"; the art performance; the ethnic costumes performance of Viet Bac region. These activities let the tourists experience the cultural features of Viet Bac region. 
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Duong Van Luong emphasized that this annual program is an opportunity to introduce and advertise the strengths, potentials of 6 provinces in Viet Bac region to domestic and foreign tourists. The program also contributes to promoting cooperation, attracting investment, and unique tourism products cohesive region, thereby contributing to the tourism sector's rapid growth and become a spearhead economic sector in the coming time.

On this occasion, Mr Doan Van Viet informed that Vietnam would focus on domestic tourism in the post-Covid-19. He asked six provinces of the Viet Bac region to participate in two tourism stimulus programs launched by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, including “Vietnamese people travel Vietnam” and  “Vietnam Tourism - safe, attractive". He also required provinces to develop unique tourism products and creating their mark, different from other localities.
At the opening ceremony, Mr Duong Van Luong awarded the souvenir flags to the provinces participating in the program. Mr Trinh Viet Hung transferred the host flag to the leader of the People's Committee of Ha Giang province, the host of the 2022 program.
Also, at the opening ceremony, the delegates and tourists enjoyed the art performance of more than 200 artists of the Viet Bac Region with the topic “Colors of Viet Bac region” including three parts “Thai Nguyen – The legend tea land; Viet Bac region - the Heritage Lands; Viet Bac region – Thai Nguyen and friends”.
