On December 24th, Mr. Doan Van Tuan, Vice Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee had meeting with  agricultural-rural association, Chikyunjin association and Japanese agricultural village to discuss the cooperation opportunity for sending Vietnamese students to Japan to study advanced technology in the fields of agro-forestry and maritime product.

At the meeting, Mr. Vice chairman introduced the potential and advantages of Thai Nguyen focusing on agro-forestry. There is university of agro-forestry where thousands of students are trained every year. Besides, Thai Nguyen has advantages of land areas and pedology; hardworking people.

Representatives of Japan associations and vocational village also introduced their advantages, especially in term of agriculture, requirements for students to study in Japan. Accordingly, first of all, Japan will receive 20 students from Thai Nguyen. This is considered as the pilot plan. If it is effective, Japan will continue receiving more students in order to replace the existing sources in these associations (currently, there are approximately 700-900 international employees working for these associations, however, the result does not meet the expectation). Japan clarified their opinion that those who are chosen have to meet the requirements from Japan. They are not allowed to discontinue the contract to go out for working, going home when the contract terminates. For further information as requested by Thai Nguyen, Japan informed the students will stay with Japanese family. Monthly expense will be around 4  million VND/person. For students who stay in 7 months, each one will be paid 190 million VND/month on average. After monthly expense, they can save 150-160 million VND…

For the effective cooperation, Mr. Doan Van Tuan suggested that instead of sending the junior and senior, the province can send the graduated. Mr. Tuan also suggested that the following December to April is the period of freezing climate, Japan can send experts to transfer technology to farmers in Thai Nguyen in the rice fields. Japan agreed with this suggestion. In response to invitation of Japan, Mr. Tuan accepted to visit some agro-forestry areas in Japan in March or April 2016 when he arranges suitable time. This cooperation will be continued discussing before the two sides sign official agreements.
