Samsung Group’s volunteers help build houses for poor households

On August 21st, Samsung Vietnam Electronics and Habitat for Humanity, a non-governmental organization held the closing ceremony of Samsung’s Employee Volunteer Program 2015 in Phuc Thuan commune (Pho Yen town).  

In a series of the volunteer program, from August 16th to 21st, Samsung Vietnam Electronics Thai Nguyen co-operated with Habitat for Humanity to hold the activity of building houses for poor households in Phuc Thuan commune. 43 volunteers from Samsung Korea Electronics and 35 ones from Samsung Vietnam Electronics Thai Nguyen participated in the program. All of them had been trained about the house building and completing skills before directly taking part in building houses for 6 poor households in Phuc Thuan commune. As a part of the “New House – New Hope” project, this meaningful program is sponsored by Samsung Group with the amount of 5 billion dong. The project has been implemented within one year (from December 2014 to December 2015), with the aim to build 11 new houses, repair and upgrade 41 houses, equip households with restrooms and water supply systems in Phuc Thuan and Thanh Cong communes (Pho Yen town). 92 households will be directly benefited from this project in total.

 

Also in the program, the volunteers will provide the training in information technology to 300 students of Thanh Cong, Phuc Thuan and Hong Tien Secondary Schools, Pho Yen town. In addition, the schools will also be assisted in installing game equipments to create an attractive playground for pupils after school. Previously, the volunteers assisted Hong Tien Secondary School in installing a computer room.
