On August 6th, Mr. Vu Hong Bac, Deputy Secretary of Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council paid a working visit to University of Information and Communication Technology (ICTU) - Thai Nguyen University (TNU).
After having a look at the facilities of the university and listening to the report of the university’s leaders, Mr. Vu Hong Bac highly appreciated the achievements of TNU in general and ICTU in particular in terms of the facilities and equipments investment for training; the quality improvement of teaching staffs; the development of training scale and type. “Currently, the province is promoting policies to attract investment. Samsung Group and supporting enterprises have been investing heavily in the province... This is a great opportunity for universities to link the training activities to the production and business of enterprises, providing qualified human resources, especially in the field of manufacturing the information technology products. Therefore, TNU and ICTU should continue to improve the training quality, renew the training content and form associated with the practical needs and the developing trends of the province as well as Vietnam.” – said Mr. Vu Hong Bac.
He also confirmed: “Developing the qualified human resource and high-tech industry has been a major and long-term orientation which is paid a special attention by the province. Therefore, the province will continue adding policies, facilitating the association between the universities, training centers and enterprises to develop.” On this occasion, Mr. Vu Hong Bac attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony for Samsung lab ICTU (the investment worth of over 800 million VND sponsored by Samsung Electronics Vietnam Co., Ltd for ICTU). This experimental lab was equipped with modern technological devices, such as laptops, tablets, mobile phones to help the students and lecturers of the university practice, study and exploit in order to create the innovative mobile applications which are meaningful to the socio-economic development and beneficial to the human. Also on this occasion, the University opened the Samsung mobile application programming course for numerous students who wish to participate in the mobile application development.
