Yen Binh Green Urban Planning Project fostered

To strengthen the implementation of Green City Zone Project in Vietnam, including Yen Binh Urban Area, on September 5th, Mr. Duong Ngoc Long, Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee had a working session with Mr. Kwang Wang Ik, Senior expert of Korea Urban Research Institute.

Green City Planning Project was formerly called as Smart and Green City Zone Planning Project in Vietnam. The Project has total investment of USD 6.5 million funded by the Korean government via the Work Bank and will be performed at Yen Binh Urban Area (Thai Nguyen province) and Rach Gia City (Kien Giang province). Project period is three years, from 2015 to 2017.

 

Mr. Kwang Wang Ik said that the Institute will, after this working session, make a feasible report before representatives of Vietnam and Korea sign a cooperative agreement. Accordingly, the Project will be financed around December 2014 and developed in June 2015 at the latest. The Project will be carried in conformity with the existing master plan of two provinces. During the implementation, planning-supporting software introduced by the Korean Urban Area Research Institute will be used. It is one of the most advanced softwares for urban planning, which is scientific, objective and highly precise.

 

The Provincial Chairman affirmed that the project will strictly comply with any commitment on the use of software for planning support introduced by the Korean Urban Area Research Institute. In addition, regarding the title of the Project, the province proposed to unchange it as Vietnam Green City Planning; however, planning details must guarantee elements of a smart green city zone with the background of scientific technology, knowledge because Yen Binh Green City Zone has been planned as a smart city right from the start…
