The meeting between Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and Representative of MFC Foundation, Japan

According to the invitation of the Provincial People's Committee, on September 18, Mr. Yasutaka Miyata, Chairman of  the Managing Board of MFC  Financial Support  Fund (referred to as MFC) cum Managing Director of Small and Medium Enterprises Association in Kanagawa - Japan, and colleagues visited and worked in Thai Nguyen. Mr. Duong Ngoc Long, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee welcomed and worked with the delegation.  

The main objective of this meeting is to exchange about investment opportunities between MFC and Thai Nguyen province on the issues of waste treatment, towards the construction of treatment plants, hazardous waste, industrial waste; apply new techniques of waste treatment from Japan and training technical garbage collection and sorting.

 

Mr. Yasutaka Miyata said: MFC is implementing steps of Project in waste treatment in Vietnam, initiated in Hung Yen province. 14 Northern provinces will be implemented in the future, including Thai Nguyen. The goal of the project is to support Vietnam on waste treatment technology in 10 years. Support capital for project implementation is approximately USD 2 billion, which was loaned from ADB bank. MFC will introduce, transfer and apply Japanese modern waste treatment technology to Vietnam but the entire system will be manufactured and installed in Vietnam. He expressed his desire that this meeting would be an opportunity for MFC to find a partner to set up a joint-venture company to invest in waste treatment chain in Thai Nguyen.

 

Mr. Duong Ngoc Long thanked the attention of MFC for Thai Nguyen province and expressed his desire of continuing to have a long-term cooperation between the two sides. He said the province agreed with policy of executing application of waste treatment technology which was consulted and transferred by MFC. After MFC sends Thai Nguyen province a cooperation document, Provincial People’s Committee will entrust a specialized agency of province with coordination and implementation of next steps as agreement. Province agrees with cooperation between MFC and local businesses to implement plans to support investment in waste treatment chain. During implementation, the province will create favorable conditions for MFC to complete the project.
