Cooperation with the Sri Lanka investors discussed

On the morning of September 5th, Mr. Dang Viet Thuan, Member of the provincial Party Standing Committee, worked with Mr. Aruna Lekamge, President of APL Group - Sri Lanka and members of the delegation.  There was also the presence of the representative of economic counselor - Vietnamese Embassy to Sri Lanka; leaders of relevant departments, sectors and units of the province.  

Mr. Aruna Lekamge expressed APL Group’s concern at a number of sectors which are strong points of the province such as: construction, manufacturing of steel, cement, tea processing, training education, technology… and expressed desire to promote further cooperation in these fields.

 

Mr. Aruna Lekamge also introduced about APL Group’s inauguration of Sri Lanka - Vietnam Trading Center (in Sri Lanka) in order to show and promote (free of charge) products of both countries to local people and international visitors. The Group was ready to reserve a stand for Thai Nguyen province to show its typical industrial and agricultural products there. Besides, he really wanted Thai Nguyen province’s enterprises to care for and access to Sri Lanka market to choose the investment in sectors like: construction, education, health, finance, etc. in which APL Group acts as a bridge.

 

Permanent Vice Chairman thanked Mr. Aruna Lekamge for APL Group’s concern and intention for the province. He emphasized that Thai Nguyen at present had high need for investment in building living houses for workers in Industrial Zones, especially for Yen Binh Industrial Park (Pho Yen district) and Go Dam Industrial Park (Cong River Town) where ten thousands of workers are working without living houses or must stay in temporary houses or seriously-downgraded houses. Therefore, the province  would like to facilitate for APL Group to research, survey and implement on investment promotion in these sector as soon as possible. Moreover, the province was willing to cooperate with APL Group in fields proposed by Mr. Aruna Lekamge, such as English training with the purpose of qualification enhancement of English teachers in schools in the province.
