Conference on tea products and tea business development

On the morning of 10th November, 2013, the conference on tea products and tea business development, investment and tourism promotion at the Second Tea Festival, Thai Nguyen – Viet Nam 2013 was held at Thai Nguyen Provincial People’s Committee. Mr. Dang Viet Thuan, Member of Thai Nguyen Provincial Standing Party Committee, Vice-Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; Mr. Dinh Khac Hien, Director of Department of Industry & Trade, Head of the Organizing Board; representatives of bureaus and departments from Ministry of Industry & Trade, Ministry of Agriculture & Rural Development; administrators, scientists, tea producers in some provinces in Viet Nam and other countries attended the conference.

At the conference, there were 24 reports of the delegates, in which 9 reports were presented directly. Each idea has its own orientations and realistic recommendations to the sustainable development of tea plants. They deal with many issues, such as planting and caring techniques, processing technology, value and competitiveness improvement, consuming market expansion, and nation-wide producing and trading association of tea products.

The conference is an opportunity for enterprises, trade villages, co-operatives which plant, process and export tea in different provinces to exchange their experiences. It is also a chance for tea specialists, tea associations, and state administrative units to discuss, assess and provide significant solutions to the development of tea industry.

Besides, socio-economic development potentials of Thai Nguyen Province were also presented in order to appeal to the enterprises and investors domestically and internationally for researching, surveying and promoting their investment.

At the end of the conference, contracts on tea producing, processing, consuming were signed among some enterprises (photo). Thai Nguyen Provincial People’s Committee awarded the Certificates of Merit to those who significantly contributed to the success of the conference.
