Awarding Investment Certificate to Samsung Electro-Mechanics Limited Company, Vietnam

On the morning of October 2nd, Thai Nguyen Provincial People’s Committee held its ceremony to award the investment certificate to Samsung Electro-Mechanics Limited Company, Vietnam, which belongs to Samsung Group, South Korea investing in Samsung High Technology Complex, Yen Binh Industrial Zone, Pho Yen District.

The ceremony was attended by Mr. Nguyen Van Kim, Standing Deputy Secretary of Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee, Mr. Duong Ngoc Long, Deputy Secretary of Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Thai Nguyen Provincial People’s Committee, leaders of the Departments of Planning and Investment, Industry and Trade, Construction, Transportation, Finance, Natural Resources and Environment, Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, Information and Communications, the Departments of Thai Nguyen Provincial People’s Council, the Management Board of Thai Nguyen Province’s Industrial Zones, Pho Yen District Party Committee, Pho Yen District People’s Committee, Yen Binh Investment and Development Joint-Stock Company and some business leaders in the area.

Samsung Electro-Mechanics Vietnam is one of the subsidiaries of Samsung Group specializing in manufacturing components for cameras, mobile and telecommunications devices and other electronic devices. At the beginning of 2013, the Company was committed to the construction of its electronic components factory in Samsung High Technology Complex, Yen Binh Industrial Zone with a total investment of over 1.2 billion USD, and a total leased land area of ​​almost 30 hectares. According to the investment certificate, Samsung Electro-Mechanics Vietnam will implement its investment project in 4 years from 2013 to 2016 and complete the installation of its workshops and production lines in the first phase of the project within 15 months after the date of its awarded investment certificate.

After awarding the certificate to Mr. Ryu Seung Mo, CEO of Samsung Electro-Mechanics Limited Company, Vietnam, Mr. Duong Ngoc Long provided the investors from South Korea with general information about the potentials, strengths, investment attraction and socio-economic development results of Thai Nguyen since the beginning of 2013. He highly appreciated Samsung Group’s determination to invest in Yen Binh Industrial Zone and stressed that in the future Thai Nguyen Provincial People’s Committee will continue directing its departments and localities to coordinate with Samsung Electro-Mechanics Vietnam and Yen Binh Investment and Development Joint-Stock Company in land clearance work, infrastructure construction and installation of production lines, promptly solving any problems arising, creating the most favorable conditions for the investors in the construction and operation of the factory.
