Introducing Activities of the Second Tea Festival, Thai Nguyen – Viet Nam 2013 to Domestic Press Agencies

On August 27th in Ha Noi, in the regular press briefing held by the Party’s Central Department of Propaganda, Ministry of Information and Communications and Viet Nam Journalists Association, Thai Nguyen Provincial People’s Committee, the Organization Board of the Second Tea Festival, Thai Nguyen – Viet Nam 2013 introduced the activities of the Festival to the domestic press agencies. The briefing was chaired by Mr. Nguyen The Ky, Vice Head of the Party’s Central Department of Propaganda, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hung, Deputy Minister of Ministry of Information and Communications and Mr. Ha Minh Hue, Vice Chairman of Viet Nam Journalists Association.

Mr. Duong Ngoc Long, Chairman of Thai Nguyen Provincial People’s Committee introduced the potentialities and strengths in Thai Nguyen’s tea growing to the press agencies, simultaneously announced the activities taking place during the Festival. Specifically, this Festival which is going to be co-organized by Thai Nguyen Province, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will take place from the 9th to the 11th of November 2013 with the participation of more than 30 tea growing provinces, some member countries of the World Tea Association as well as the tea processing and trading businesses, tea trade villages in the province. The venues of the Festival are Thai Nguyen City, the Museum of Cultures of Vietnamese Ethnic Groups, Nui Coc Lake Tourist and Resort Area and some other tea growing areas of the province.

 

The Festival this year will include 6 main activities: the opening ceremony; the symposium on tea products, tea investment and tourism, tea culture promotion; Thai Nguyen Tea Carnival, Tea Land Beauty Contest and the Closing Ceremony. 5 secondary activities include the exhibition on books, photographs, and artworks introducing Thai Nguyen land, people and tea; tours organization for visitors; typical country fair displaying tea products and products of ethnic groups; typical agricultural and industrial products shows and sport activities. The Festival is financed by the State central budget, local budget, and other lawful sources in the society.

 

Following the success of the First Tea Festival in November 2011, this Second Tea Festival, Thai Nguyen Province not only continues to introduce, promote, honor Thai Nguyen tea products and Viet Nam tea culture, conserves and promotes the spiritual and material value of Thai Nguyen tea, but also promotes the development of production, processing and consumption of tea, focusing on attracting investors, promoting joint and cooperation activities to improve tea production and tea trading efficiency.

 

At the press briefing, Mr. Duong Ngoc Long would like to receive the cooperation and assistance from the press agencies that concentrate on the promotion of this major cultural event, contributing to the success of the Second Tea Festival, Thai Nguyen - Vietnam 2013.

 

At the briefing, the leaders of the press agencies discussed the name of the Festival, the organizing method and the propaganda before, during and after the Festival takes place.
