Department of Industry & Trade (DOIT) in association with Viet Nam Chamber of Commerce & Industry (VCCI) held a conference on introduction of potentialities of business cooperation with Indian market on October 26. Attending were Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nhu Van Tam, representatives of Indian Embassy, representatives of Africa, Western and South Asia Markets Department (under Ministry of Industry & Trade) and Indian Business Association (IBA) as well as departments, braches, agencies and more than 70 enterprises in the province.
The Indian market is considered one of the more potential for Vietnamese enterprises. National goods are so appropriate with this market in terms of price and quality. Commerce and investment relations of two countries however have been minor during the last time. Accordingly, there was an introduction on potentialities of the Indian market for the provincial enterprises at the workshop including common practices, customs procedures, import-export policies; and cooperative relations of two countries in commerce and industry for the past time. Also, Thai Nguyen introduced business environment and projects concerning call for investment of the province with India through Embassy and IBA in such fields as investment into infrastructure development of industrial zones, new urbanisms, supermarkets, restaurants and hotels; metallurgy manufacturing industry, manufacturing and export industries of consumer goods, electricity, electron and agricultural products also ecological tourist areas building; investment into universities and vocational schools as well as finance and consult.
This is the first major conference to be held in the province that will help Thai Nguyen with a more complete introduction on its potentialities and new orientations for provincial enterprises to search and develop cooperative relations in several fields in India. On this occasion, it is expected that Indian enterprises will have more cooperation programs with the province in the coming time and first of all, it is attendance of one exhibition fair called “Thai Nguyen Typical Industry and Agriculture of 2012” with the theme as “Technology Innovation, Quality Improvement – International Economy Integration”.
