On November 15th evening, at Nui Coc Lake tourist area, the People’s Committee coordinated with Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Ministry of Information and Communications to hold the closing ceremony of the First International Tea Festival, Thai Nguyen-Viet Nam 2011
After 7 days with nearly 20 diversified, exciting and attractive activities, on November 15th evening, at Nui Coc Lake Tourist area (Cao Trang hamlet, Phuc Xuan commune, Thai Nguyen city), the People’s Committee coordinated with Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Ministry of Information and Communications to hold the closing ceremony of the First International Tea Festival, Thai Nguyen-Viet Nam 2011
There was presence of members of Central Committee of the Vietnamese Communist Party at the Closing Ceremony namely Mr Uong Chu Luu – Vice Chairman of the National Assembly; Mr Hoang Tuan Anh – Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Mr Nguyen Bac Son – Minister of Information and Communications; Mr Pham Xuan Duong – Provincial Party Committee Secretary, Leader of National Assembly Delegation of Thai Nguyen province; leaders of the province through ages; numerous people of the province, at home and abroad.
The festival attracted tens of ten thousand of people to come Thai Nguyen to participate in programs such as: International workshop on tea; Tea Culture Festival; “Nice tea tree” contest; “Viet Nam, Thai Nguyen – Your destination” picture exhibition; International Tourism Commercial fair; Cuisine Rural Market; Carnival festival; tea banquet, etc. The unique feature of this Festival is that Thai Nguyen province set records namely the biggest ceramic tea set; the number of tea tables and tea enjoyers at the same time was the most numerous in Vietnam. The Festival was really the place where economic – cultural – social activities were converged, exchanged and united and it created favorable conditions for tea planters, scientists, managers, enterprises, organizations, units, consumers at home and abroad to meet each other in order to honor tea tree. At the closing ceremony, the Organization Board gave the honor cup to more than 50 enterprises, teams, individuals who sponsored activities of the Festival with the amount of money from VND 100 million and above, the Board also gave Certificates and Gold Cups to 46 trade villages, the units which achieved “Gold hand” prize, “Gold tender tea leave” prize, “Vietnamese Tea Culture” prize, etc.
Speaking at the Closing Ceremony, Mr. Duong Ngoc Long – Deputy Secretary of Provincial Committee of the Party, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee showed that the First International Tea Festival, Thai Nguyen-Viet Nam 2011 had achieved the complete success, and it was really an important outstanding point which helped to bring out the role of tea products in current period. The Festival had met the expectation of numerous people, tea planters, tea producers, tea processing persons, tea consumers in the country and international friends
At the Ceremony, delegates, tourists and people enjoyed voices of some famous domestic singers, and the impressive fireworks performance.
Also at the Ceremony, “Miss Tea-Land” contest completed after 3 rounds. From 30 contestants of the final round, the Organization Board selected most beautiful 10 persons, and from that point, 5 ones were chosen to enter the final questions round. And result was as follows: Contestant Nguyen Thi Hai Yen with order number 54 who came from Thai Nguyen won the first prize; Contestant Vo Dieu Thao with order number 65 who came from Khanh Hoa won the second prize and the third prize belonged to contestant Le Quang Anh with order number 07 who came from Son La. Besides, the Organization Board also gave 9 additional prizes to other contestants.
Mr. Duong Ngoc Long, – Deputy Secretary of Provincial Committee of the Party, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee gave the crown of “Miss Tea-Land” to contestant Nguyen Thi Hai Yen

The Closing Ceremony closed in the colorful fireworks performance and boisterous melody of Festival Tea on Viet Bac hometown.
