Online exchanges with Pakistan

On the afternoon of September 22nd, the People’s Committee of Thai Nguyen Province coordinated with the Pakistani Embassy in Viet Nam in order to hold the online conference between Thai Nguyen enterprises and the Pakistani enterprises, business associations. The exchange program belonged to the framework of the cooperative activities between Viet Nam and Pakistan.

There were H.E. Mr. Shahid M.G. Kiani, the Pakistani Ambassador to Viet Nam, and the representative of Ministry of Industry and Trade participating in the program in Thai Nguyen Province. As for Thai Nguyen Province, there were Comrade Nhu Van Tam, Member of the Standing Committee of Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee, Vice-chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; the leadership representatives of Departments of Industry and Trade, Foreign Affairs, Information and Communications; and the representatives of 25 provincial enterprises. Participating in the program in Karachi City – Pakistan, there were the leader of the Pakistani General Confederation of Trade and Industry, the representative of the Pakistani Foreign Investment Agency, the representatives of some trading associations and tens of the Pakistani enterprises.

In the conference, Comrade Nhu Van Tam introduced Thai Nguyen Province and its potentialities, opportunities for investment cooperation to the Pakistani Ambassador, the Pakistani trading organizations, associations, and enterprises. He also introduced the First International Tea Festival – Thai Nguyen – Viet Nam 2011 to them and invited the enterprises to participate in the Festival and look for cooperative opportunities in Thai Nguyen on this occasion.

At the online point of Pakistan, the representative of the Pakistani Foreign Investment Agency introduced the potentiality and policy on investment attraction of the Pakistani Government, concurrently committed to be the bridge for the Vietnamese enterprises which paid attention to learning about the investment cooperation opportunity in Pakistan and vice versa. The representatives of Pakistan Leather and Footwear Association and Tea Association exchanged much information and the mutual cooperative situation. At the online point of Thai Nguyen Province, some enterprises’ representatives of leather and footwear, tea export, gemstone exploitation and manipulation  also introduced much information on the supply potentiality of export products to Pakistan and the demand of products that the Pakistani enterprises can supply. Through this exchange program, many enterprises of two countries promised to continue to learn about partners in order to increase the bilateral commercial cooperative relationship.

Addressing the conference, H.E. the Pakistani Ambassador said that the Pakistani Embassy expected this conference to help the Pakistani enterprises, especially the tea manufacturing and exporting enterprises understand Thai Nguyen tea and the International Tea Festival much more. He proposed that Thai Nguyen and Pakistani enterprises carefully learned about and searched for the bilateral cooperative opportunities. Besides, he suggested that the Pakistani enterprises and business associations visited and studied directly the opportunities of cooperation and investment in Thai Nguyen Province and others in Viet Nam.

On the occasion of the business trip in Thai Nguyen, H.E. Mr. Shahid M.G. Kiani, the Pakistani Ambassador, visited the Education and Support School for Disadvantageous Children of Thai Nguyen Province. He presented one set of computer with the value of  VND 12 million to the school. He said that he was very moved by the teachers’ work. He hoped that the gift would bring into play its usefulness to help the students approach the information technology.
