On 8th August, in the morning, the Embassy’s Delegation of The Islamic Republic of Pakistan, led by Mr. Shahid M G Kiani, visited and worked in Thai Nguyen.
Comrade Dang Viet Thuan - Member of Provincial Standing People, Vice-Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee – and leaders of departments such as Department of Industry and Trade, Department of Foreign Affairs, Department of Agricultural and Rural Development received and worked with the Delegation. With the aim of continuing to consolidate the diplomatic, commercial relations between Pakistan and Thai Nguyen province, in this business trip, the Ambassador is interested especially in tea production and export of Thai Nguyen to the Pakistani market; organization of International Tea Festival – Thai Nguyen 2011.
Pakistan is the familiar trading partner with Thai Nguyen province in tea products’ import. At present, there are 9 enterprises exporting tea to Pakistan, the export value was estimated about USD 15 million. However, during the last years, that export value is not high, the export is still separate, importers and the Pakistani consumer market have not approached directly Thai Nguyen’s tea products much.
Expressing to the Delegation, comrade Dang Viet Thuan affirmed that Thai Nguyen would continue to create the closer diplomatic relations in order to step up the friendly relations and expand the commercial exchanges with Pakistan. In the field of the tea production and export, Thai Nguyen province shall continue to speed the product broadcast, maintain the safe tea production process. On this occasion, comrade gave the official invitation to the Ambassador and the Delegation about participation in International Tea Festival – Thai Nguyen 2011 and through the Ambassador he also wanted to invite the tea-importing enterprises to Thai Nguyen so that they can study and continue to cooperate in the tea production and export in coming years.
After listenning the general introduction of the economic-social situation of Thai Nguyen province as well as the development scale of tea plant, the Ambassador affirmed that he would continue to promote the commercial relations between two countries, especially to Thai Nguyen province. Mr. Shahid M G Kiani said: The tea product in general and the tea product of Thai Nguyen in particular are very popular in Pakistan, however the Vietnamese producers and Pakistani importers need to broadcast the tea productions in multi-ways so that people can reach to the products much more. Agreeing with the invitation, intending in October 2011, the Ambassador – Mr. Shahid M G Kiani shall return to Thai Nguyen to implement some philanthropic activities and, along with some enterprises, participate in Commercial-Industrial Fair, International Tea Festival – Thai Nguyen 2011.
In the same day, the Ambassador – Mr. Shahid M G Kiani visited the speciality tea production models and the tea-exporting factories to Pakistan such as Dai Tu tea import-export joint stock company, Thang Huong green tea production enterprise in Hong Thai 2 hamlet, Tan Cuong commune, Thai Nguyen province; enterprise of Van Tai tea joint stock company in Tan Huong commune (Pho Yen).
