Auspicious festive season with original characteristics

  In order to supply information to the domestic press and the international press, in the afternoon of August 19th, in Ho Chi Minh city, Ministry of Information and Communications, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, People’s Committee of Thai Nguyen province co-presided over organization of the 2nd  press conference about International Tea Festival – Thai Nguyen 2011.  

Attending and directing the press conference are comrades: Mr. Pham Xuan Duong – Member of Central Communist Party, Provincial Party Committee Secretary, head of the delegation of  Provincial member of the national assembly; Mr. Duong Ngoc Long – Deputy Province Committee secretary, Chairman of Provincial people’s committee; Ms. Ma Thi Nguyet – Member of Provincial Standing committee, Vice-chairman of Provincial people’s committee, Deputy leader of Organizational board of Festival. Representative of some Central ministries, department; representative of embassies having the representative offices in Ho Chi Minh city; leaders of provincial departments; over 200 representatives, press reporters of 70 domestic and international press agencies participate.

At the press conference, for Festival Organization Board, comrade Nguyen Thi Le Thu, Director of Culture, Sports and Tourism, introduced tea plant to every representative, announced preparation and content of activities which would implement in Festival next time; comrade Duong Xuan Hung, Member of Executive committee of provincial party committee, informed some basic contents of Competition of Miss Tea Region – one of the main contents of this Festival. There were many opinions and questions of representatives, newspaper reporters answered and explained clearly by Festival Organization Board. 

As scheduled, the International Tea Festival will be established from 11^th November to 15^th November in Thai Nguyen city and Ho Nui Coc tourist area. There are 6 major activities in this Festival: Opening Ceremony, International seminar of tea, Introductive Exhibition of Vietnam - country and people, Tea culture Festival, Competition of Miss Tea region, Closing Ceremony. The supporting activities include: Enjoying tea on yacht in Ho Nui Coc tourist area, Fair of Trade and International Tourist, Eating and Drinking under the local market, Ecological Tourist and Tourist of return to traditional moral value, the Parade on streets to propagandize the Festival, Regatta, Introduction of tea culture, Kungfu Performance, Human chess, cultural and artistic activities, etc. It is expected that there would be 10 countries and territorial areas, 30 provinces and cities in Vietnam, 50 traditional trade villages, 25 tea trading enterprises and about 400,000 guests participating in this Festival. 

This is an opportunity to introduce, broadcast products of Vietnamese Tea in general and Thai Nguyen Tea in particular to internal and external trading partners, tourists. This Festival is also an occasion to Vietnam and the world know about tea products of each other; is a chance to carry out experience exchanges of tea plant and tea products between enterprises planting, processing, trading in tea at home and abroad, increase the effect of production and trade for tea plant and Vietnamese tea products step by step.

Addressing the press conference, comrade Pham Xuan Duong emphasized a point: after being commissioned by the Prime Minister, in 2010, Province focused on direction of activities to prepare this Festival. The provincial leader considered this Festival as a great, important, meaningful program to the socioeconomic development of the country in general, of Thai Nguyen province in particular. Party committee and people of ethnic groups in province were trying to overcome all difficulties, concentrate highly on work items in order to serve this Festival, guarantee practical activities and effect; and after serving this Tea Festival, these work items could be continued to exploit to serve the socioeconomic development in province; implement socialization, mobilize enterprises, organization at home and abroad for financing and encouraging this Festival.

On behalf of the Provincial leader, comrade was thankful to the domestic and international journalists, the press as well as enterprises for their support during the last time. In this important time, comrade expressed his expectation for co-operation of the internal and external press agencies, enterprises, organizations to broadcast the tea plant much more, support to make this International Tea Festival in Thai Nguyen province successful, bring the practical effect on the socioeconomic development of Thai Nguyen province as well as the whole country in the integration and expansion period.
