Increasing effectiveness of NGOs Sponsorship

In 2 days, March 24th and  25th, Thai Nguyen provincial people’s committee and Committee for Foreign Non-governmental Organization Affairs hold conference of Thai Nguyen and NGOs, cooperation and development.

Presenting at the conference were mr Phạm Bình Minh, Party Central Committee Member, vice-minister of MOFA, Chairman of Committee for Foreign Non-governmental Organization Affairs; Mrs Ma Thị Nguyệt, Member of the Standing Committee, Vice president of provincial people’s committee; representatives of ministries, branches and over 20 NGOs in Vietnam

Mrs Ma Thị Nguyệt presented at the conference a brief of social, economic situation in Thai Nguyen recent years. In the year to date, the province has a growth rate of 11%, industrial production value of 20%, export turnover growth of 30%.

In recent years, NGO sponsorship through the effective support of Committee for Foreign Non-governmental Organization Affairs has played an important part in the provincial dynamic socio economic growth.

On behalf of Foreign Non-governmental Organization Affairs, Mr Phạm Bình Minh briefly presented the NGOs sponsorship to Vietnam in general and Thai Nguyen in particular as well as its coming direction and project.

Since 2005, NGOs sponsored USD 29 million to implement hundreds of projects in Thai Nguyen. Besides its economic effectiveness, these support help a lot with human resources building and developing.

At the conference, there was cooperation signing ceremony of NGOs Plan, AEA, East Meets West Foundation with provincial departments of education and training, women association, Foreign Affairs Department…

Thai Nguyen provincial people’s committee granted certificate of Merit to 12 collective and 14 individuals for their contribution to the FNGOs’ sponsorship.
