Prudential Corporation has obtained £3 billion from capital surplus

To July 31st 2009, Prudential Group has just shown that IGD funds surplus was estimated at £3 billion compared to £2.5 billion on June 30th 2009. This is because Prudential Group has just issued the shares (which helps increase £500 million).

 

Compared with the same period last year, the dividend of 6 months at the beginning of the year 2009 is increased 5%, and reach to 6.29 pence per share. Its profits  is about £688 million which is increased 6% compared with the same period in 2008.

 

In Asia, the profits from new contacts of Prudential, which is decreased 4.2%, is about £277 million compared with half of the year 2008. However, according to this group, the need for high protection products with high profits is still large.

 

Jackson, a branch of Prudential Group in America, has a total  insurance premium of about £392 million in the first half of the year 2009 which goes up to 10% compared with the same period in 2008. Its retail turnover in the first 6 months of this year was the highest in its history. Jackson's profits from new contacts, which is increased 113%, goes to £292 million.

 

Despite of the challenging, Prudential's property management companies still have the highest inflow funds for their leading positions and the result of investment for many years.

 

M&G, a leading company in private fund management of Prudential, has achieved a very remarkable growth rate in the first 6 months of the year with the inflows funds of £8.6 billion, which increased 254%.

 

In the future, Prudential will  keep focusing on long term growth. Its advantages of wide geographical scale, innovative distribution channel and diversified products will help Prudential exploit other chances to bring about profits, especially in the pre and post-retirement products.
